Submitted by Tim Robinson on Monday, 12 March 2012

There's a youth football feast at Meadow Park, 6:30pm, Thursday, 15 March as Durham County Schools FA U18s meet Merseyside in the semi-final of the Northern Counties Championship, looking to gain revenge for their only defeat of the season at the hands of Merseyside in the ESFA National Trophy.

Merseyside have since booked their place in the final of the National Inter-County Trophy having defeated Durham, South Yorkshire, Lancashire and Northumberland on their way and they will meet either Hertfordshire or Essex in the final in April.

Robert Briggs update

Submitted by Colin Wilson on Thursday, 1 March 2012

All involved with RCA will know that Robert Briggs, our midfileder on loan from Gateshaed FC, suffered a very painful and serious arm injury in Tuesday's home match against Stokesley.

Robert had an operation on Wednesday to pin his arm, which went well, and he seemed in good spirits when manager Neil Hixon spoke to him afterwards. That is his season over I'm afraid, but hopefully he will be back in action for the start of next campaign, showing the class he undoubtedly has in midfield and scoring more goals like the one which turned out to be the winner against Stokesley on Tuesday.
