Captain Greg Swansbury on the attack during RCA's terrific Third Round Vase victory at Shildon.

This Saturday, 5 January, is Sunderland RCA’s biggest match of the season so far, as West Auckland Town visit Meadow Park for a Buildbase FA Vase Fourth Round tie - kick-off for this huge game is 3pm.

An intriguing match is in prospect, with West Auckland yet to concede a goal in this season's Vase competition, however, RCA have beaten West twice this season, coming back to win after being a goal down at half-time on both occasions.

Christmas greetings

Submitted by Martin Swales on Sunday, 23 December 2018

Not the result we wanted to finish 2018, with a defeat against Ashington, but unfortunately, it wasn’t to be. We’ve had no luck with injuries this season with some key players missing but hopefully we will have players back in January and we kick on from there. There are some massive games still to come, starting with the visit of West Auckland in the FA Vase on Saturday, 5 January. We had a good win against them in the Durham Challenge Cup, but I fully expect the Vase game to be totally different. We’ve had some tough draws in the cups this season, and full credit to the squad we have here for some great results and never giving up, which was evident in the win against Shildon.

So with 2018 coming to and end, I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of everyone at the club, to thank our supporters and sponsors and friends of the club for the support they’ve shown in 2018 and the continued support in 2019. The players and the management team will be working hard in the new year and hopefully make 2019 an even better year for everyone connected with the club.

So, all that’s left for me to do, is to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I hope to see you all again in January.
