FA VASE 1st Round Proper

Submitted by Rob Jones on Monday, 6 October 2014

Sunderland RCA FC have been drawn at home against Handsworth Parramore FC in the 1st round proper of the FA Vase.

The match will take place on 1 November 2014.

Handsworth and Parramore FC was formed after a merger between Handsworth F.C. and Parramore F.C. 2014 and the club was placed in the Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division where they currently lie 5th. I believe that they are currently playing their home games in Worksop.

The Meadow Park lioness

Submitted by Tim Robinson on Saturday, 4 October 2014

We might be looking at a trend here...

RCA season ticket holders Simon Mears and Dave Rochfort flank Dave's dog Cooper, an 18 month old shih tzu. She's a very appropriate dog to support RCA because 'shih tzu' is Mandarin for 'lion' and the breed is characterised as alert, lively, courageous and clever.

Cooper is partial to a bit of our famous corned beef pie. And who can blame her?

Rosie supports her master

Submitted by Tim Robinson on Wednesday, 1 October 2014

Whether paying rapt attention to the match or posing for the camera, RCA hound in the ground Rosie was an excited spectator at Meadow Park when RCA played a friendly match with Sunderland West End. Seen here with her mistress and regular RCA supporter Jacquie Brown, Rosie is one of three dogs in RCA midfielder Andrew Brown’s family. If she hadn’t been on a lead, she would have been on the pitch as the home team’s 12th man.

Martin Swales appointed as new RCA manager

Submitted by Colin Wilson on Friday, 19 September 2014

The new management team at RCA: Martin Swales, right, and Gary Errington before Saturday's match at Jarrow Roofing. Martin and Gee take formal charge away at Celtic Nation on Tuesday, 23 September.

The club are pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Swales as our new team manager. In what was a very strong field of candidates, which reflected well on Sunderland RCA's reputation as a club, Martin's local football knowledge and his obvious commitment and desire to manage RCA gave him the edge in the opinion of the club management committee.

We are confident that Martin will be a successful appointment and look forward to working with him to move the club up the Northern League First Division table and develop and grow the club in coming seasons.
