Having lost on penalties last week RCA returned to Esh Winning to play Pools Youth FC in the 3rd / 4th place play-off.

Pools Youth took advantage of the slope in the first half, but it was RCA who created the first chance of the game.  A smart through ball from Charlton found Morris but he miscued his effort and the ball went wide of the target.

RCA took the lead in the 11th minute when Lawrence won the ball in midfield before playing it into the path of Charlton who controlled the ball before lashing it into the bottom corner.

Pools Youth were level six minutes later when a long hopeful ball over the top from the keeper saw the number six muscle his way past the RCA defence before drilling the ball past Marrs.

Almost from the kick off RCA Charlton broke on the left before crossing into the box where Morris sent a looping header beyond the Pools youth keeper.

The game became a bit scrappy after the second RCA goal with neither team producing any meaningful attacks.

Another long ballbfrom the Pools Youth keeper caused a bit of panic in the RCA defence, but this time Marrs was quick to see the danger and hooked the ball clear.

RCA increased their lead in the 43rd minute when a Charlton corner to the far post was headed home by Allen.

The two goal cushion was short lived as RCA as a Pools Youth striker latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the box and smashed and unstoppable shot into the net.

RCA again did well at the start of the second half, A Charlton free kick was headed narrowly wide by Jakab. and minutes later Jakab had the ball in the net from another Charlton free kick, but the referee ruled it out for a push on a defender.

Within minutes of the disallowed goal RCA were awarded a penalty when Trialist "A" was brought down in the box. He got up to take the penalty which was well saved by the Pools keeper, but Morris following up converted the rebound to make it 4-2.

Both teams brought on a number of substitutes which disrupted the flow of the game and although RCA had the majority of the play they could not breach the Pools youth stoic defence.

A late flurry saw RCA's Charlton once again fire the ball into the net only for it to be ruled offside, a marginal decision.

The game finished two minutes later.

Final Score Pools YFC 2  SRCA 4.
