Cemetery View - Christmas 2009

Submitted by Ghostly Gadgie on Wednesday, 20 January 2010

[The Ghostly Gadgie has been very late in filing his Christmas View. It’s been very cold so things got more than a bit frozen up in his parts. Still, better late than never. – Editor]

Cold, very cold in here! Nice drop of something would go down well to warm the lads up, I could always win a prize in the bottle draw…

Will it ever take place? Colder than the proverbial witches round here, and nobody wanted to play on Boxing Day anyway, so the betting is strong that will be off, and if there is no match how can there be a prize draw? Might have to be done behind closed doors this year, which would be bad news for Fergy’s chances of winning a couple of nice ones again…

A time for contemplation; top of the league at Christmas, that’s certainly never happened before, even if the chasing pack are getting very close. Hicker normally finally gets it right about now though, and there is talk of a couple of signings to “sharpen the squad up”; one of them is supposed to be a tricky little winger, not Taz again, surely?

And what about being part of the World Cup bid? The chairman says he has been onto Brazil already, and they are sending an inspection party to check out the facilities…

What about the facilities? More work needed in the New Year I hear, better bog access for the officials and a private entrance to the same for the home team. Doesn’t sound like much, just get the usual collection of “contacts” in and it will be finished in no time, with Deft and Scon in charge of tea making and criticising no doubt.

Anyway all the best to you and yours at this festive time of year, a very merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful new year, another few months of shouting and bawling to look forward to; then happy days in the buds of May…
