The first Player of the Month awards were won by Steph Houghton and Steph Bannon.
Sunderland RCA FC community partner, Springboard Sunderland, has broadened its support for football in the City by joining forces with Sunderland Women's FC at their home game against Chelsea on Sunday, 22 October by agreeing to support the player of the month awards for this season.
Springboard Secretary Denise Wilson said "We are very keen to support grass roots football in Sunderland, as we think it is a great way to involve young people in healthy lifestyles and make them active parts of their community. We are delighted with this partnership with Sunderland Women's FC and look forward to presenting the Springboard Players of the Month Awards throughout the season."
