There's a youth football feast at Meadow Park, 6:30pm, Thursday, 15 March as Durham County Schools FA U18s meet Merseyside in the semi-final of the Northern Counties Championship, looking to gain revenge for their only defeat of the season at the hands of Merseyside in the ESFA National Trophy.

Merseyside have since booked their place in the final of the National Inter-County Trophy having defeated Durham, South Yorkshire, Lancashire and Northumberland on their way and they will meet either Hertfordshire or Essex in the final in April.

We are very pleased to report that Manager Neil Hixon has appointed Carl Beasley as Assistant Manager, where he will work with Neil, George, Ian and John.

All at the club know and respect Carl. Adding a winner to a winning team looks like a very good move!

All supporters and friends of the club are cordially invited to attend our presentation evening at the Alexandra in Grangetown on Friday, 11 May at 7:30pm. There will be a comedian, Dave Addams, buffet and presentations, and tickets are only £5.00. See anyone in the clubhouse or drop us a line and get yourself along to celebrate a great season!

Getting towards the end of the season and time to say a well deserved thank you to all those who help us out through the season. Principal thanks go to Springboard, whose vision for what the club can create as a community sporting hub for Sunderland is inching closer to reality every year. Big thanks as well of course to Gentoo, our shirt sponsors, who share the vision with Springboard. Can we forget the corned beef pie? I really don't think so, very many thanks to Derek and Catherine Winlow and their staff at The Promenade, Sunderland's premier seafront hostelry if you happen to be down Seaburn way. You are always sure of a warm welcome at the Promenade, that's for sure. And a final thank you to all our programme advertisers, your support is vital and much appreciated. Thank you all, hopefully see you all next season, this could be the year!
