EBAC Northern League Division 1

Goalscorers: SRCA: None,      Morpeth Town: Fry, Chilton.

After a disappointing display on Saturday against Jarrow Roofing SRCA had an early opportunity to put things right on the pitch.

Morpeth Town were the opposition and they were looking for their fifth straight win, so not an easy task for the lads in red.

RCA were forced to make one change as Davis was working, so Charlton stepped in. During the warm up Callen pulled up with a recurrence of a groin problem and had to be replaced by Hughes.

EBAC Northern League Division 1

Goalscorers: SRCA: Larkin,  Jarrow Roofing: Teasdale (3), Morien.

Jarrow Roofing were today's opponents and with both teams recording victories in mid-week a keenly fought contest was envisaged.

RCA made two changes to the side who performed so well on Tuesday night against Newton Aycliffe, Richardson was brought in to replace Preston who is away on a family holiday and Davis replaced Charlton who hadn't fully recovered from the injury sustained on Tuesday.

After Saturday’s crushing defeat against Shildon, RCA made the trip to the Moore Lane ground for their rearranged fixture against fellow strugglers Newton Aycliffe.

Changes were made by the manager and in came Larkin and Armstrong to replace Weldon and Rowe. Preston returned to the centre of defence, while Bythway was moved to left back. Larkin was to be supported up front by Callen and Armstrong came in on the left of midfield.

Apologies to my faithful reader for the lateness of this report, unfortunately I was away for a few days and didn't get time to do it.

RCA travelled to Shildon‘s Dean Street ground for their twice postponed Ebac Northern League Division 1 match and came away with nothing but a lesson in direct forward play.

Gee Errington took charge of the team in the absence of Martin Swales, Larkin was unavailable and Armstrong was rested after suffering a dead leg in the match against Ashington. That meant Bythway and Brown partnered in the centre of the defence with Preston moved up front again to partner Callen.

Woodhorn Lane is never an easy place to visit and today was made all the more difficult with the appointment, at the beginning of the week, of Stephen Harmiston as manager. There was certainly a buzz about the place and it was obvious that the players were up for the game.

RCA made one change, recalling Weldon at left back to replace Richardson.

Once again RCA were playing at the Nissan Sports Complex as the problems surrounding RCA’s pitch continue.

RCA were forced to make changes to the team who played so well against today’s opponents 10 days ago, with both Bythway and Weldon unavailable the management team re-shuffled the team, Preston moved to the heart of the defence and Richardson was brought in at left back. Callen was recalled to partner Larkin up front.

For their part Bishops had both Pocklington and Tarling returning after suspension.

On a perishingly cold night at Heritage Park the travelling fans went home with a glow in their hearts as RCA out played their rivals, coming from a goal down at half time to win fairly comfortably in the end, the score could have been 4 or 5  to 1 had RCA taken their chances.

The management team had a full squad and more to choose from for this important EBAC Northern League fixture, rearranged several times due to cup ties and the weather it was a relief to both teams to have the game on.

RCA introduced James Rowe into the centre of the park for his first start for the team, Ross Preston linked up with another debutant, Colin Larkin and Kieran Megran started against his old club.
