Well goals galore at Meadow Park, but sadly the opposition scoring quite a few of them. Do fans really want exciting football? Or a nice quiet comfortable home win? Well to judge by the recent "crowds" down here they don't give a toss either way. Thin is the word, although not always in individual cases. So, what do the fans want? Well, some of them want to watch the Colliery and that's a fact. And the fixtures seem to be conspiring to let them do that instead of watching us, which is a shame. Never mind on we go, and the delightful hordes from down country will be making the Vase trip this week. Always a pleasure to be condescended to by the country cousins. Still us poor people in Ryhope knows our place squire, thankee kindly for the visit, I'm sure, and yes we agree street lights and mains drainage are much over rated by us city folk. All joking aside, good lads from Bishops by and large, and stalwart supporters of their club, which is as it should be. I expect cup tie heroics...

What else is happening down here below the graveyard? Well, training on Monday night this week, after a somewhat disappointing visit to Hebburn, and harsh words exchanged in certain areas I believe. I think we may see some changes this weekend and in the next few weeks as the revolving door gets back into action, it's all been far too settled, leads to complacency is the firm view of the management I can tell. At least one of our bold boys been tempted by generous offers from afar and has succumbed to the lure of South Durham cash. Where do they get it from? And others have felt the managerial wrath and been advised to offer their boots elsewhere. The manager clearly remains confident in his ability to find footballers unknown to the rest of the world from every nook and cranny of the North East, but mainly down Hendon and up Red House. And who are we to argue? He does keep doing it, to general cries of "Where did you find him?" from his managerial colleagues. Just watch and wonder, that's my advice. And say "Who's he then?" on a regular basis. But no truth in the rumour of certain parties making their way to Durham either, or so I am assured, and anyway somebody else has got the job. Blimey, takes some keeping up! And I've got all day, every day to think about it....
