RCA reprieved from relegation

Submitted by Tim Robinson on Saturday, 1 June 2013

A 24-17 club vote at this morning's Northern League AGM reprieved Sunderland RCA from relegation to Division 2 following our finishing third bottom this season. Our reprieve is at the cost of Jarrow Roofing's disappointment. Roofing finished fourth in Division 2, but were hoping for promotion because second-placed Ryhope CW were relegated for not meeting ground criteria by the due date.

Ryhope CW have appealed against the decision to relegate them back to the Wearside League and our reprieve may be overturned if their appeal is successful.

On Saturday, 4 May, 2013 Spennymoor Town will be playing Tunbridge Wells in the FA Vase Final at Wembley.

The club wish Spennymoor all the best and especially ex-RCA men Mark Davison, Joe Walton, Keith Graydon and Glen McCartney. Enjoy the day and bring back the Vase, please!

The price of tickets has been lowered to £15 and £5 for children to hopefully attract more spectators. Details of how to purchase tickets are available here.

Spennymoor Town have also arranged return travel by coach for only £20 and coach tickets are available from Spennymoor’s Wembley Club Shop, under the Town Hall in the town centre, from 9am on Monday. The Wembley Club Shop will be open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday up to 3 May, and 9am - 1pm Saturdays.
