Gary Anderson
Midfield
Gary comes in from local football, a central midfield player who is very comfortable on the ball and has a good range of passing. Still young and lacking experience at this level, but a player who will grow in stature and become a valuable member of the squad. |
| |
Gary D Anderson
Defence
Gary joined the club last season after spells with York City and Spennymoor. Gary made the most appearances last season – 42 – both as right back and centre half. He is a great trainer and always gives his all; a real find who won last season's players' player of the year. |
| |
Lee Bell
Midfield and Forward
Lee has joined RCA from Sunday football. A very lively wide man, who loves to run with the ball, Lee played for the County side when younger. Scored the winning goal against Markse on his debut. |
| |
Graeme Brown
Defence
Graeme has joined Sunderland RCA from Sunderland Nissan. He generally plays in a centre back role and is very comfortable on the ball. |
| |
John Butler

Last season's top scorer with 17 goals in 34 games, great return in his first season at this level, there are high expectations for even more this term. Butts is a strong running, hard working and a nightmare for opposing defenders. |

A quality left-sided defender, formerly with York City, Sean has joined RCA from Newcastle Blue Star on loan until end of 2007/08 season. Quick and strong: a class act. |

Ashley has joined us from Jarrow Roofing. A wing back, and certainly the quickest player in the current squad, Ash gives us tremendous options turning defence into attack with raking runs from the back. |
| |
James Dickinson

James has joined SRCA from local football. A wide midfielder, currently taking a break from football, Jif is quick, brave and a real workhorse for the team. We would love to see him back soon. |
| |
Dean Goodwin
Midfield
Dean was signed from Seaham Red Star, and has lots of Northern League experience. An aerial presence in the middle of the park, Dean has a great engine and covers an awful lot of ground during games. Strong in the tackle and with good use of the ball, Dean will be an important part of the squad. |
| |
Phil Hall
Defence
This is Phil's second full season with the club having joined from junior football. Had a good first season, but last year was wrecked by a knee injury. Hopefully he will recover to prove what a quality talent he is. |
| |
Wayne Henderson
Defender
Wayne returns after a season out with a serious injury, and is a great boost to the club. He can play anywhere across the back, in midfield or up top where he was previously the club's top scorer. Wayne is a quality player who has been badly missed. |

Andrew joins from Wearside League Willngton to try his luck in the Northern League. Andrew is a quick and direct front man with pace to burn, and scored on his ANL debut against Stokesley. |
| |
Andy Jennings
Forward
You won't miss this feller! As big and as powerful in the air as they come, Andy is a real boost to our firepower at centre forward. Coming to us from first division Seaham Red Star, which speaks volumes for the ambition here at RCA, Andy made an immediate mark with two goals on his debut, and hopefully with many more to come. |

| |
Craig Lines
Forward
Craig is a centre forward who has previously played for local neighbours Seaham Red Star. Scored first goal on his League debut for SRCA at Whickham. |
| |
Glen McCartney
Defence
Glen signed in the 2007 close season from Seaham Red Star. |
| |
Adam McGuinness
Midfield
Adam is a strong left sided midfielder, quick, direct, strong and good in the air, always dangerous from set pieces. He joined the club from Sunday football and is already starting to make his mark on the side. Works for sponsors Gentoo, so useful off the field as well! |
| |
Andy Middleton
Midfield
Equally happy on either side, Midds has great pace and the ability to go past defenders and deliver quality into the box. Andy works hard defensively for the team and a big season is expected of him. |
| |
Jon Minniss
Goal keeper
John is a big lad, calm and careful with good hands, he looks the part between the sticks and he will push Craig all the way for the number one jersey for the rest of this season. |
| |
Michael Naylor
Defender
Michael is a stylish centre half - another player progressing via our Under 18 side. |
| |

| |
Scott Richards

| |
Paul Sammons
Midfield
A cockney tiger! Paul brings grit and determination into the centre of the park. A powerful tackler who never lets his opponents rest, he also passes the ball intelligently and has an eye for goal from the edge of the box. A very valuable acquisition from Crook Town. |
| |
Craig Shields
Goalkeeper
Craig has joined Sunderland RCA from Sunderland Nissan and is a player who returns to the fold after starting his Northern League career with RCA. Craig was in goal for the successful Hetton Lyons team that won the All England Sunday Cup at Anfield in 2006. Other Northern League clubs include South Shields and Durham City. |

Gary is a Sunderland East End lad who has a wealth of Northern League experience, having spent over 10 years with Chester-le-Street FC. |
| |
Paul Wardle

"Delta" comes back after a trip round the clubs in recent seasons. A solid no nonsense defender, he can also do a job man marking or tackling in the middle of the park. An asset to the club. |
