World Cup Predictor Competition

Submitted by Liam Dufferwiel on Tuesday, 29 June 2010

With the conclusion of the World Cup group stages so ends the Sunderland RCA World Cup predictor competition. The final league table can be found via this link www.sunderlandrca.co.uk/predictor.

It was a turbulent start to the World Cup with the group stages bring up all sorts of surprises, namely Spain’s defeat to Switzerland, Italy’s draw with New Zealand and of course England miserable showing in the draw with Algeria.

Out of all the entries nobody manage to pick up a point in these three games. But, as the tournament progressed the results began to go to form and points started to accumulate.

It would be The Fox, who lead the way from the start, who would prove to be the eventual winner correctly predicting the score of five games and the results of a further four.

Finishing in the top 4 and prizewinners are:

First place The Fox with 33 points winning £100
Joint second Dan Graham and RJL Dental Ceramics with 27 points both winning £30
Fourth place Ian Mankin with 24 points winning £15
