Club news 2010-11

Sunderland RCA were very pleased to host such an entertaining cup final last Wednesday evening. Congratulations to both Whitehaven and Thornaby for playing such an open and lively game.

Whitehaven ran out 3 - 1 winners after extra time after a one all score line at 90 minutes.

We've just heard from Alan Powles, Northern League Referees Secretary, about a North East drive to get 1,000 pairs of football boots to Africa. Please read on and help if you can. This year’s presentation evening to celebrate Sunderland RCA’s achievements in the 2009/10 season will be held at The Alexandra pub in Grangetown on Saturday 5th June.

To make contact with supporters, both current and prospective, in the local area and throughout the city, Sunderland RCA has created a Facebook group and page. Through Facebook we will attempt to market ourselves to people who have an interest in football, at any level, but may not currently know about the club.

Sunderland RCA’s presentation evening took place on Saturday the 5th of June to commemorate the clubs fantastic achievements at all levels over the course of the 2009/10 season.

The annual Alan Thompson Memorial Cup match between Sunderland RCA FC and Ryhope CW FC, which was scheduled for Saturday, 24 July 2010 - 3:00pm, has been postponed.

A new, mid-week, date will be arranged.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Sunderland RCA have drawn Shildon AFC away in the Extra Preliminary round of the FA Cup to be played on 14th August 2010.

In the FA Vase we have been drawn away to Selby Town FC who play in the Premier division of the Northern Counties East League, this match is to be played on 4th September 2010.

The friendly match between Hebburn Town and Sunderland RCA tonight has been cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.

Next friendly will be Team Northumbria on Saturday.
