RCA continued their impressive pre season goalscoring record against a very impressive Seaham Red Star Res side.

In a fairly even first half Red Star had the better of the possession and also probably the better chances although RCA did have a shout for a penalty which was deemed to be outside the box.

Red Star took the lead on the stroke of half time when a long ball forward was brought down  and lobbed over the keepers head by the Star's centre forward.

RCA Started the second half in a more dominant mood and in the space of 5 minutes were 2 - 1 up through Armstrong and Hope.

Red Star were not going to lay down without a fight and equaliser 10 minutes later.

RCA regained the lead almost immediately when substitute Hughes curled in a shot which nestled in the far corner to make it 3 - 2.

Thompson fired home to make it  4 -  2 then Noble rounded the keeper to slot home RCa's fifth.

Thompson finished the scoring late in the game heading home from inside the six yard box.

After a below par first half RCA picked up the pace in the second half and in the end ran out worthy winner.

Seaham Red Star reserves looked very comfortable on the ball, passed us off the park in the first half but seemed to run out of ideas as the game progressed. Nevertheless they will be a force to be reckoned with in their League
