Mighty fine effort by the boys the other night, rode our luck a bit but never mind, a very creditable point against the reigning champions. Showed some real fighting spirit. Our old boys were out in force, Rash, Sparky and Joe all obviously keen to do well, running about, not something Rash usually does, and shooting on sight. Was it just the lights or is Rash's hair coming back? No, you are right, it was the lights. I digress.

Young Joe started like he was going to win it on his own, and Sparky certainly put himself about. But Scotty battled hard all night in the middle, and the defence stood up to the test, with a special mention for Craig Shields, thought he was a centre forward nowadays? Magic when he was called on to sub for Neal. Top dog.

Early days obviously, but the signs are good for the rebuilding project, bound to be ups and downs, but it should be a fun ride. And as a nice next test, a double header against Ashington, a reprise of the FA Cup sometime back in the summer. Be good to get the league points obviously, but be great to still be in the Vase in December, uncharted waters indeed. And just to put the old hex on it completely, I fancy us to win both,I really do....
