A bit of a kerffulle I hear over West's plans to up their prices, in fact to double them, when the hordes from Darlo come to town. Much wringing of hands and threats of boycotts in the air. Which got me thinking, how will we cope on that frosty night in January? Has anyone bothered to tell the neighbours yet? I thought not. Better get your courage up methinks and get a few notes through doors, or is that inviting trouble? God knows what Tracey will think when she finds a double decker parked on her drive. Well, that's not right, we do know what Tracey will think, and it isn't "how quaint". Of course it won't come to that I'm sure, but is access quite as bad anywhere else in the League? Probably not I guess, so some good thinking required over the next few weeks, though sod's law probably means the game will be postponed three times and happen some time in April. Should be a very interesting night though, whenever it is played, and might it challenge the attendance record?

Well it would do if anybody knew what it was. It was that game against Newcastle some time in the early eighties, we know that, but estimates of the crowd depend on who you talk to, and most of them weren't there anyway. All part of the cheerful if somewhat disorganised air that makes us such a interesting little club. But back to current concerns.

What is it about playing at home? We go to Dunston and win, a great result in anybody's book, then fall flat at home against bottom of the table Aycliffe and even worse against Benfield. How to explain? It surely isn't the pressure of playing in front of big crowds, maybe it's the opposite, maybe our lads were all born to play at Old Trafford and can't get themselves motivated for Meadow Park. If that is the case then there is no easy answer, because none of our lads are going to be turning out in downtown Salford any time soon...
